This famous beverage has been popular for more than 1000 years until today and can be found primarily produced in Zhejiang province located southern China .The leaves are edible after brewing as well!
Yuqian tea refers to the tea buds picked after Qingming Festival but before Grain Rain Period(i.e. after April 5 before April 20).Although the difference between the two picking time is not very long, just half a month, but there are certain differences for the teas. Although the Guqian tea is not as
tender as the Mingqian tea (tea picked before the Qingming
Festival, namely before April 5), but because of the high temperature of Grain Rain period
(from April 5 to April 20), the Guqian tea buds and leaves grow relatively
fast,as a result, Guqian teas are rich in accumulated nutrition,so it
often tastes fresh and strong after many times of infusion.
