Dragon Pearl Jasmine Tea

Known in China as 'mo li hua zhu', or Jasmine flower tea, Jasmine Dragon Pearls is an artisanal Chinese tea made from premium green tea leaves and jasmine flowers. During production, the tea leaves are layered with jasmine buds, which allows the essential jasmine oils to seep into the tea. The tea leaves are then delicately rolled into beautiful little pearls that unfurl when steeped in hot water.

Each premium tea in our Jasmine Tea range is sourced from Fuzhou, the capital of Fujian province in China's southeast. With its subtropical climate, short dry winters and high rainfall, the area has historically proved ideal for growing jasmine and the tea bush, Camellia sinensis. Jasmine was originally planted in the third century and has been blended with green tea leaves since the Song dynasty era (960-1279 AD).

Dragon pearl jasmine tea is also a type of jasmine tea, which is a reprocessed tea. It is made by mixing jasmine flowers and green tea embryos together, which makes the greed tea absorb the aroma of jasmine flowers. Because of the roasted green maocha, it has a porous structure, just like activated carbon, which can absorb the smell of jasmine flowers very obviously. Dragon pearl jasmine tea belongs to the middle and high end flower tea, the tea embryo is hand-wound and shaped into a dragon ball shape. The dragon pearl jasmine tea can last long for brewing and has a nice shape. The jasmine flowers are usually not visible among the dragon pearl jasmine tea, because they are removed after scenting processing.

In China, Jasmine Tea is drunk throughout the day and is especially popular in the summer time, when the jasmine flowers are in full bloom. Dragon Pearl Jasmine Tea can be enjoyed hot or cold, making it a versatile beverage for any season.
