Enshi Yu Lu is a Chinese steamed green tea in needle shape, which is also called Chinese Gyokuro.Enshi Yu Lu is Chinese famous tea,a kind of speciality from Enshi City, Hubei Province,China.The steaming process of Enshi Yu Lu flourished in the Tang Dynasty（618AD.-907AD.), and it is the only steamed green tea in China's history that has been preserved.
Both Enshi Yu Lu Chinese Gyokuro and
Japanese Gyokuro are steam processed, Japanese Gyokuro processing method was
introduced to Japan from ancient China,which is developed in accordance with the traditional manual production of
Enshu Yu Lu Chinese Gyokuro process evolved,so the two teas are related and different.
Unlike Japanese Gyokuro that has flat and straight ropes in emerald green or dark green color with dry tea seaweed fragrance,Enshu Yu Lu Chinese Gyokuro is tight,round and smooth in shape, which looks like
pine needles with white hairs shown in pale and green color, and dry
tea boasts clear or chestnut aroma.
The Enshu Yu Lu Chinese Gyokuro grow up in open-air tea gardens. After the tea trees have stopped growing, the gardens are pruned and closed with overwintering fertilizer, and the tea buds can be picked in the spring after they reach the plucking standard of one bud and one leaf or one bud and two leaves.Enshu Yu Lu Chinese Gyokuro has strict requirements for harvesting and is hand-picked with good and complete tender and fresh leaf in uniformity and clarity.
